Out by the Washita River

In Oklahoma, near where my parents were born and raised, the land is covered with a beautiful forest of blackjack oak, wild pecan, and hickory trees. This particular stand is located just west of Davis, Oklahoma, across the highway from the Washita (Wash-ta) River on the way to Hennepin where they lived and went to school together even as small children.

  2. Lovely work, Jim. I also love your tag line: "A Sketchbook in Search of Itself." Great!

When I was lurking, I came across your painting of the Island View Grocery, and it stuck with me. It IS very American...and these little family-run places need to be celebrated!

    Thanks for your great work,
    Kim

We drive through the general area on our way to visit kids in Texas -- I love the area!
