American Idol reject, Jennifer Hudson, won an Academy Award last night for Best Supporting Actress in the movie Dreamgirls.
Not too crazy about how that "shaded eye" came out. Thinking about removing it by cutting all light away; face lit from the left with the right side in complete shade.
Graphite, and white charcoal, in my brown papered sketchbook from Barnes and Noble.
Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing! I love the touches of white.
ReplyDeleteJim, thank you for the kind words you left on my blog. I'm glad you liked that piece. I love this one of yours. I actually think the shaded eye looks fine, but it would be nice to see what happens with that side of her face completely dark. The mouth is awesome! The white is a great touch! She has a beautiful face that would look great in shadow with all her curves and prominent eyebrow and cheekbones. Very nicely done. You're very talented in your own right!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous job! I love the brown tinted paper - it's especially nice for this sketch.
ReplyDeleteterrific job...lovely mouth and the eyes are too....dont change a thing:>
ReplyDeleteVery nice job on this.
ReplyDeleteI love the shaded eye. It has just the right amount of definition for this sketch. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes are exquisite!
