EDM Challenge #60: My Old Car

This was my first car when I was a kid in high school. I loved it, and when I lost it in a divorce some years later I was heartbroken. I loved the car much more than I ever loved her. Oh well, nothing's fair in love and '53 Chevs.

  2. Jim, I love that car! Had a 53 Chevy once, too...no, nothin' is fair, especially in divorce.

  4. Jim - What a terrific drawing of your car. I'm sorry you're not out cruisin' with her (the car, of course) still!

  5. Sad about the car. Divorce settlements are never fair, no matter who you are. Still, the drawing is very good, Jim.

  6. First cars are always dear to our hearts. Mine was a hand-me-down from my parents - a 1950 Buick. Big as a tank, uglier than anything on the road now, but I loved it. First car with first husband was a 1939 Chevie - also a hand-me-down from his parents. We sold it when he was out of school and I ran into it years and years later. It had been repainted, but I recognized it by the three-corner tear in the headliner where I caught the end of my skiis as I loaded them into the car. It was one of those precious moments for me. Liked the "hungry catfish" comment, too.

  8. Nice car Jim! As to the divorce, one should never lose proterty that they personally owned prior to the marriage, that is my opinion. But alas, she lives on in your memory.
