I spotted St. Francis in a garden shop today. Cold and frozen in a stone-like substance, standing alone, I could only feel sorrow for him. I figured the least I could do was try to give a little more life than what he had standing there amongst the petunias. Poor guy. He's in bad need of some reinvention found at Illustration Friday this week.
I know what you mean...those forgotten "yard art" pieces that have real persona. Sad to see them worn down. You did a great job!

if you're going to take anyone home, st francis is a great choice! much better than a plastic flamingo! (although you might want to consider one to keep frank company!) great illo!
