"Spudnuts 'N Coffee at the Spudnut Shop"

Some of the folks that I go drawing with ended up at the Spudnut Shop this last Saturday.  The Spudnut Shop, locally owned and once featured on the Food Channel, serves thousands upon thousand of spudnuts each week and has been doing so for many decades.

"Don't call them donuts," says the owner, whose name escapes me at the moment, "they are Spudnuts."  I think that's because they make them from potatoes rather than flour.

Whatever it is they use to make them, they are the most delicious do-spud-nuts I have ever eaten, with the possible exception of the infamous "Krispy Kreme," which is simply killer.  Literally.

Anyway, we had a good time while there, drawing each other's spudnut; and we did some talking about what we have been trying to do as local urban sketchers, and we decided whatever it is we have been trying to do isn't working very well.  We always get the same folks out to draw, from an email list of approximately 40 local artists. One can only knock one's head against the wall so many times.

We decided to just start going out on our own, have fun drawing and sketching and don't worry about trying to promote what we do because no one seems to really give much of a damn.

Ok.
