Sketchbook Project #26: Modigliani #3

I am having too much fun doing these Modigliani's today. This is the third in the series, and I don't have much of an idea if there will be anymore, or how many more, I might do.

This "Sitting Algerian Almiisa," and she was painted by Modigliani in 1916.

A real beauty she. Wonder who she was?

  1. often this helps you get into the mindset of the artist---I recall feeling such excitement placing colors next to each other when doing studies of Toulouse- Lautrec ...and thought he must have felt that "rightness", too.

  2. I like the colours on this one, very deep, they bring out her eyes and hair nicely. I have been catching up to your other posts and I really like the one of Debra Lee and the Sail boats. Great work and Happy New Year.
