Big Black Chrysler

A most amazing thing just happened: While in the middle of posting this sketch at Flickr - and here - and having a good bitch-session about the quality of this sketch, Gabi Companario drops a comment on my Flickr site, and gives me both a great comment on this sketch, and a bit of positive advice with my "woe is me" attitude about this sketch (and therefore, I think, indirectly about most of my stuff). I'm amazed! And so pleased.

Thank you, Gabi!!!

  1. Jim..the wheels look great as does the rest of the Chrysler all in all. I see yur points regarding width and length but quite frankly there is nothing here to not really like. There is enough detail to take us where you wanted to go, and our mind fills in the rest just fine.

  2. Yes, drop the woe is me and pat yourself on the back. I really admire your drawing. There is no good or bad in this game only like or don't like.

  3. Hey Jim, I too am so hard on myself. When I read back my blog posts sometimes all I see is 'this is rubbish' 'don't like this piece' etc. It's hard to be objective about your own work isn't it? Well it's impossible, I think. Soemtimes now even when I'm having a moan about my work I try to look for something positive about it too.
Anyway, you use some really nice lines in this one.
