"The Big Red Machine"

In my quest to produce images of a masculine nature (see "On Track" below") this big red machine caught my eye when I was out looking for something "industrial" last spring. I'm not sure what the overall thing was, it wasn't a bulldozer, or a tractor, or anything I recognized. It did sit on tracks like a bulldozer would, but I just couldn't figure it out. I liked this particular part of it for its compositional elements. I hope you like it.

  1. I love the design and color of the this mystery engine. We don't even need to know what it is.

Welcome back to the world of art.

  4. Yay! Jim's back! (I was just coming over to say "HEY - November's over -- get yourself back into the game" ... and here you are!)

This is a wonderful painting! I love the subjects that you choose, and you do them so well. It is a perfect companion piece to the train wheels.

    Did I say I'm glad you're back?

  6. Excellent stuff! Maybe just looking masculine and important is enough for this machine :)!

  7. Amazing painting! Yup guys would like it, but your way with color makes it appealing to me too (and I am not a machinery type of gal). Great work.
