A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I headed out for an overnight trip. We spent the night in Pendleton, Oregon, and the next day drove to Walla Walla, Washington, to visit the wineries and art galleries. In Pendleton, we stayed at the Parker House Bed & Breakfast which was filled with "things" to sketch: I chose the living room and find it fits EDM's challenge to sketch something "old."
Jim, this is a fantastic drawing! Love the way you draw the eye in with that table on the diagonal (I think it is a table but since I can't see the sketch as I type....). Really good perspective and composition!
ReplyDeleteI second the motion! Good to see you back at it. It looks that one took some real concentration. There's so much going on in that room.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Looks like a beautiful place to stay. Great drawing for this challenge. I love the staircase in the background.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, wonderful sketch! And it's such a great way to remember your stay there.
ReplyDeleteDito to all the above. Drawing this wonderful room must have kept you out of mischief for a wee while! Looks like a great place to stay. :o)
ReplyDeletewow I love this too ! wonderful detail but not obsessively so, a beautiful ease to your line.
ReplyDeleteJim, I agree with the above -- it looks great!
ReplyDeleteJim, this is a lovely old room and so well illustrated!

Fabulous lines and color! I am a HUGE fan of anything antique or old...especially period homes.
