This isn't a sketch so much as it's a watercolor painting I did a few years ago, and I want to share with the EDMG'ers for the Musical Instrument challenge this week. I met Joe at the annual Lavender Festival in Sequim, Washington, a few years ago. He writes his own music and it created the perfect ambience that warm, sun-filled day in summer with tourists exploriong the farms and the fragrance of lavendar filling the air.
(My apologies if this sounds like I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce, I'm not. . . we don't even live in Sequim anymore.)
Oh, Jim, that's so nice. I love the way you used those complements to such great advantage. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWonderfull drawing! Very nice colors. I like it very much. I wish I could use my watercolors like this!
ReplyDeleteYou really show mastery of the medium here - and such an individual portrait. It's excellent.
ReplyDeleteYou are all too kind. But thanks anyway...:-)
ReplyDeleteI really love this painting. I would love to be able to use watercolours in this way. Your work is, as always, lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou are seriously talented Jim... this might be me favorite of what i've seen by you.

Jim, I love this one! I don't know what is my favorite thing about it -- the use of color, the beautiful wash background, or just the picture itself!
ReplyDeleteWell I think this is just wonderful. A beauttifu example of watercolor artistry.
