"Catalogue Guy"

I do a lot of figure and "headshot" drawing from the catalogues that JC Penney's and others send to my wife. It's not as good as real models, but where we live life drawing is a once month endeavor. Before we moved here, I was going once a week to life drawing sessions. I found this guy in the catalogue recently and gave him a "go." It's graphite and watercolor on drawing sketchbook paper.

  1. This is great! Do you ever draw from photographs? I've been taking photos with an for sketching these days. I'm starting to fall in love (even more) with everything I see. It's funny how when you start seeing differently, you see the inherent beauty in everything. Okay, I'm rambling now. I'll go. ;-)

  2. Welcome to the "We See Inherent Beauty in Everything" club. It's a wonderful group and membership is determined only by your ability to see this wonderful creation we live in, on and amongst. Isn't it sad how so many miss it? Well, so much for rambling... I draw and paint from photos most of the time because my actual creativity sucks. I also do this because I find it really helps develop my skills, and my EYE.
