"On Track"

I'm rather excited about this painting. For those of you who can't tell, it's a painting of a railroad car wheel and shock absorber. I've been intrigued by some paintings I saw in an art mag some years ago where the subject matter was industrial "stuff." So finally, last summer, I had the time and the inclination to follow my muse, and the result is what you see here. The REALLY exciting part is that I entered it into a local art gallery for entry into a juried show they'll have in May and it made it! This is a first for me, so I'm happy and excited and don't really care if I win anything, just being "in the show" is good enough.

  1. wow, congratulations on making it to the show! =)

y'know what, i thought that painting was a photograph at first!

  2. Oh, I've said before how much I love that one! I'm not at all surprised it made it into a juried show -- HUGE congratulations! (standing with big grins clapping and cheering wildly!)

  3. Hi Linda, thanks again for your kind and gracious comments. I can only hope my mother feels the same....:-)

  4. Yes, congrats! This is great. I'm with you on just being in the show.
