I visited my buddy, Chris, in Sequim, WA., this last week-end and in addition to breakfast and visiting with Tim, another friend, and working on Chris' "boat-house" shed, we drove out to this farm to do some sketching. Years ago I lived in Sequim, and Chris and I frequently went out into the area for
plein aire sessions. We both miss doing this, so when I get back into Sequim, not very often I'm afraid, Chris and I go sketching.
The farmer's name is Tom, and it was with enthusiasm and pride that he gave us permission to draw his farm buildings which were all built in 1913: the house, the barn, and the outbuildings - which included the chicken house.

Excellent! I love that you met the farmer, too. That's one thing I really am enjoying about sketching in public - meeting and chatting with people. This is a great sketch. Sounds like a fun trip with your friend.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, and I'm SO glad that I did! Love your sketches, I'm going to go check out your flickr pics right now:)

ReplyDeleteLike your sketch done in Sequim. Wanted to let you know we will be in Kennewick sometime between Oct 19 and Oct 26. I will be in touch when our plans are firmed up. I plan to do some sketching and hope we can hook up. Is the Fairfield Inn in a decent hotel to stay in Kennewick?
This is just beautiful. Very nice work.
