Life Drawing Model

Faces are so difficult to capture. I'm afraid my power of observation isn't quite good enough yet to pull in the essence I want to capture, but I do enjoy working on improving those skills. This young lady is a frequent model in our "life drawing" sessions.

  1. The key to capturing a likeness is in understanding facial anatomy. Once you've read up on it and practiced it a little, you'll start noticing that most faces vary in just a few areas, and there are some standard proportions that apply to just about any face. This will enhance your observational skills, and you'll find yourself getting closer and closer to getting a good likeness.
