"Model72705"

I love working on people faces. This is graphite on some really cool Aquabee Newsprint I found at an art store close out. Constructive critiques are welcome.

  2. Hi Jim, I like drawing people's faces too. Is this someone you know or from a magazine photo? I really like it. As for critique, there seems to be something amiss with the right nostril. I couldn't really see it really close up, bit it seems a little out of proportion. Also, consider shading the bikini top. Good work!

  4. koukla, thanks for your critique! Funny how scanning something really reveals the "oops," I noticed that nostril in the scan, but not on the actual sketch. The original is a model in a newpaper ad...I don't know if this is copyright issue or not, oh well.. ;-)

little kernel, yep, I did it myself and I'll hustle over to your site, now.

  5. I don't think anyone would sue you for copyright violations if you were not selling the piece. I use other people's photos for practice all the time. Sometimes when I am trying to see mistakes in a portrait, I look at the drawing in a mirror. It's amazing--try it!
