This small pseudopod of pears came by our home this morning on the way to market. Hurredly I jumped out with my moleskine, a Staedtler ink pen, and a few watercolors to record their trek through Illustration Friday where the theme this week is "crowded."
Very nice! I really like your drawing. The colors, and the repetition of the pear shape are lovely. I just got a moleskine too, and I love it. When I tried to use watercolor it just rolled right off, and the paper wouldn't take it. What kind of watercolors do you use?
ReplyDeleteA pseudopod, a plethora huh? I like the colors. Do you have a favorite? Mine's the third from the left.
ReplyDeleteHi Meridith, I had that problem at first, but then what I learned was to put the paint down thin and work the brush fairly quickly. Also, washes work well, put down some water, give it just a couple minutes (maybe seconds) then add the paint. I started using Daniel Smith watercolors, but hvae since added some WN, and Holbeins. Don't give up, I think it'll work for you.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Nice muted, warm, colour palette.
